Need help with CD-RW

I'm having trouble with my CD-RW. It is made by LG. it will read CD's and music CD's But will not write to a CD. Any one have an answer

How old is it? Have you tried a firmware update?

it is about four years old. where do i get a firmware update?

if you got four years out of a CD-RW, congratulations. . its most likely on its way out. thats what they do when they are dying, they get tempermental and choosy about what functions they will perform. however you can try blasting a shot of canned air in there to make sure its no a dust issue.

Exactly, thus my question about its age. Some people have had their drives last longer but 4-5 years is a good run.
