Need help with XP task manager issue

Ok ill try to make this simple

i have xp pro with SP2

what do i do to have CTRL ALT DEL open task manager directly, without having the "windows security" box come up, causing me to have to click "task manager" ?

While it is true what ctrl alt del has many other functions, it is possible to make it jump straight to task manager. Just follow the steps I listed.

On my XP professional SP3 to bring up the task manager with ctrl-alt-del seems to be the completely standard action.

BTW do you know that as of 13 July 2010 there are no more security updates for XP SP2 so you are becoming increasingly vulnerable. You really should be on SP3, for which you will receive full support until 2012 (originally, but that promise has now disappeared from MS published life cycles, which is a bit ominous).

Sorry u are correct. this is bc the computer is not on a domain... go figure?!?!

You could just press ctrl+shift+esc.
