Need some DirectX help

I have one bugger of a problem, and was hoping to find a spot of help.

I'm running an old laptop with an even older integrated GPU...Mobility Radeon 7500 32mb.

I had no trouble with it until i installed DirectX 9.0c. Now, i can barely play pong. I have excessive screen wonkiness whenever i run anything with direct3d enabled. Yup...even Anarchy Online becomes nothing but a slightly wavy blur. Same with anything involving Shockwave. I'd suspect a chip failure, but this was literally a "Reboot - screwed" kinda thing. I'm not having any other graphics issues...only low-end gaming.

Any suggestions?

You didn't mention your laptop, nor the configuration
DirectX is a memory hog, and has speed needs. Your GPU is too limited for much.
If you are using DirectX 9.0c August 09, look for a verion of DirectX that was issued two years ago or earlier... one without a date.

My apologies...

Laptop is a Gateway ROG450 with a centrino 1.5ghz proc and a gig of some archaic type of RAM.

Problem is horizontal distortion. No tearing, no color banding, just wacky jittery madness whenever 3d acceleration is called for.

How would i go about rolling back Directx? Was my first thought, but couldn't find a program i trusted.
