New computer, monitor not working

So, i just bought a new computer, my monitor works on my old computer, I thought that maybe the vga cable needed to be plugged into then graphics card, but the graphics card (radeon 5750) doesn't have a vga port only dvi ports on the new computer, so do i have to buy another monitor that supports dvi? or is there some way around it.

You might like to try one of these a VGA to DVI Dongle or a suitable one for your computer? There are others at Amazon too
