New gaming system that I'm considering

If you Oc the i3 and the 720 you get real close to the same results....proportionately

Well I made my choice last week tuesday and bought this

i3-530
asus p7h55-m pro
g.skill ripjaws series 2x 2gb ddr3 1600Mhz
Lian Li Lancool case
Thermaltake 650Watt power supply

They were part of a combo on newegg with 100 dollar discount, not much different on the stuff i had configured before

I went with a 5850 for this as the 5830 was disappointing.

total cost was 715 with shipping included

I got all the parts on friday expect the damn case which was sent from a different facility ONE DAY LATER so it wont be here untill monday GRRRR

So excited to put this together !!! been suffering with my pentinum 4 for so damn long now

I used the DVD drive from my brother computer and it loaded fine, installed the os, after I restarted the computer it would not load the OS anymore just a blank screen, to start with the drive I installed the OS on I had to press F8 and select the HDD device manually because otherwise I got a windows cant find bootable crap error. And when I go into bois, the HDD drive is not available for selection under the boot device order menu....

any ideas???

Ok I figured out what was wrong, the motherboard needed another 4 pin power plug for the cpu. now it's working

There is another problem now tho, I can't get the system to boot using the DVD drive with the win7 DVD

I put everything together and unfortunetly I'm not getting any video utput from either the motherboard dvi/vga connecter OR the 5850 dvi connectors, I also tried with my old 7900 GS video card and no video output.... the system is not doing any beeps, when the 5850 is installed the fan goes on 100% it sounds like, its really loud,

any idea of whats wrong???
