Hello, i am new here, so i hope i put this in correct section 
I have some weird issue with these both games nfs underground and nfs underground 2, it seems to happen only in those two games, and problem is similar, so i guess its something connected with engine or something that two games are using.
doesnt matter if I run low or max settings, but everytime i press ESC or map, or race starts or ends, the game freezes for 1-3 seconds, audio stops and screen is still and then it starts working again. in underground 2 it really bothers me, cause everytime i recieve message or i press map, or esc or bind another hotkey in controller options it freezes for few seconds and I think it should be fluent.
I have windows xp , service pack 3, newest directx and newest nvidia drivers.
my pc is C2D 2.0GHZ, 2 GB RAM, 8600M GT 512 MB
Any idea how can i get rid of this problem and have fun playing those games again? thanks in advance
