i need some help. i have a computer and the harddrive is bad. so i tryed booting it up with a window xp disk and i reinstalled XP. but when i turned it on aging no operating system found. and now it wount even load up to anthing and just goes to no operating system found. any ideas

Try going to the website for the manufacture of that drive. All of them have some software that you can download and run tests on your drive. A lot of them have ones that will run in windows now but you want the DOS based ones that will make you a boot disk.

Once you boot up there you can run all sorts of tests on the drive. Sometimes you just have to do a full format witn one of those utilities to fix the drive, but if there is a major problem that software will also get you a error number which if your drive is still under warranty you can use to RMA it.

If you know drive is bad buy new one try again
if install found drive is it bad
did you check in bios ,did bios find drive
what type drive is it, if sata you need MB drivers to run
check all your connections and check again

good luck
