Jesus's teachings are excellent, especially the Golden Rule, but there's a lot in the Old Testament one would reject without hesitation. Mankind's collective philosophies and religions teach a code that most would agree with; it's like maths, existing in the nature of things. C. S. Lewis summed it up in the Appendix to
The Abolition of Man.

I think there's a problem of spectrum, rather than outright rejection or acceptance. A theist would say that God created sex; therefore, it's natural. An atheist would say that Nature created it, coming down to the same thing. The job of art, per Shakespeare, is to hold up the mirror to nature; or depict other things. Sex is a good, beautiful thing in the right context. We are here because of, and most are driven to some extent by it. Therefore, I do not see what's wrong with the depiction of sexuality, this good, beautiful thing, or the human form---God's or Nature's work of art; neither would blush.
There is a problem, however, if we look at the kind of adult material prevalent today, increasingly brutal, repulsive, and able to make the blood run cold. There seems to be a funny law at work where these minor, distasteful depictions spread and become common. Then, people try to re-enact them in life, perhaps alienating a spouse or partner by revulsion. Nor can we say that only those who look for will find them. All it takes is going onto an adult site, looking for "normal" sexual material, and sooner or later, the bad stuff will bombard one's eyes. If we had to make a poll of the entire world, getting them to watch these things, I don't doubt that the suffrage of mankind would reject most of it. So, why do we allow these underground growths to hijack sexuality or its depiction?
No doubt, censorship isn't the answer, but fighting the "poor" with the "excellent." I believe that having "better" sexual material in mainstream contexts would, partly, combat this. What people are really seeking is the erotic, and that, ironically, is hardly found in today's pornography, which is duller than a doornail. Placed against old-school erotic cinema, it stands no chance. Some also go to pornography but don't want to, because they are missing something in life, alone, or have nothing to do; they are searching for warmth and connection, a welcoming face, but feel emptier afterwards.
