No Sound

I recently deleted one of my pc's user accounts and along with all of the files in it. Now, none of my other user accounts have sound. It is not just mute, the whole hardware is gone, at least that's what it says whenever I try to open the volume control. Anyone have any idea what I should do?

Reinstall your motherboards sound driver. See if there is a Yellow exclamation mark in your Device Manager. If you see one in the sound section, right-click on it and uninstall it... restart your computer

How do you get to Device Manager?

right click on my computer, click system properties, click hardware. and it is there.

oh, ok I found it. There is an explanation mark by the multimedia audio control. I tried what you guys say, uninstall it and then restart my computer. I still have the same problem. Do you guys know any sound devices I can download? I think I might of accidentally deleted my soundmax. I have emachines T3985 and uses windowXP. I hope that's enough info.
