No Task Manager, No access to Display options, ymessnger killed on startup

No Task Manager, No access to Display options, ymessnger killed when trying to rin it. Yahoo.com and all other sites do not compe up with pictures etc. I have list the desktop background color. When i click on display settings, everything is greyed out. I am logged in as admin. (XP)
