Started last night when I went to use my computer for the first time for the day. Had the laptop for 2.5 yrs and never had this problem before. Its a dell inspiron, just updated to windows 10 in august. There is a red "x" over where the wifi signal would be, but now its just a computer with a cable over it with the "x". Called dell support, they had me do a factory reset and still nothing will work. Everyone else in my house is able to connect no problem. When I go to device manager under network adapters there is only Realtek, no "intel" of any sort. I will take any help!! Thanks!
No wireless connection, only works with ethernet cable. Everyone else is able to connect to wifi.

It is possible that the internal WiFi adapter has failed. You can purchase a USB adapter like this:
