Nvidia's RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is Even Slower than the Intel Arc B580

It's been a while since the last time I saw Steve using so many strong negative words about a GPU like this xD

May be the only reason the 8GB version exists is to upsell the 16GB version, or simply to fool a normal customer who did not have enough info before purchasing. Either way, it's just an e-waste, and a proof of how poor the GPU market is nowadays, and I'm afraid that it will only get worse. Unless the next gen Intel GPU can produce a huge jump into the 1440p range, we will keep getting shitty crumbles from NVIDIA.

Guys, it's safe to upgrade from 8GB XD.

IDK why people get so hung up over 8GB of VRAM like it's a cardinal sin to ask for more.

Also, I cant wait for all the "waaaah reviewers love nvidia and are never critical of them waaah" to try and rationalize this one.

This will only continue if we continue to buy garbage

As always 8GB is fine for the right price. I'd have no issues turning down some settings or dealing with subpar performance for... ~$200 give or take.

It would be a steal and I don't think many would take issue with having to make compromises at that price point.

The same thing for $400 is absurd and frankly demonstrates a complete lack of respect for the end user.

The headline is very click bait. The 5060Ti 8GB is only slower than the B580 in very specific scenarios, but the headline implies it's generally slower. I don't think the 5060Ti 8GB is a good product, but you don't need misleading headlines to make that point. Something like "Nvidia's RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is Sometimes Even Slower than the Intel Arc B580" would be a lot better.

I have a lot of respect for Techspot and Steve. But I feel the tech journalists are very out of touch when it comes to GPUs right now. Most of them just ***** and moan and tell you not to buy Nvidia GPUs. Yet Nvidia increased their market share recently and since the launch of the 5000 series their products have been marked up and sold out.

I think the problem is Steve and the rest of the review community always look at value for money. But I don't think the actual buyers of these things care. It's like telling someone whos buying a luxury car that they shouldn't because you can get a Subaru for less. They will laugh at you.

Im personally sick of it. I like these products, even if I don't use them very often. I like to read about them and I wish reviewers would be more positive about it. A 5090 can deliver 4K 120hz gaming in most AAA titles. This is awesome and should be admired. But reviewers don't care, they just ***** about how much it costs.

I've whined about this before, but I have been looking for an Arc B580 since launch day and have not been able to find one in stock except fort Gunnirs and Wheeliaos on the fresh ovum site pushing $400 and up.

Well I can't agree with you cause:
- An important part of the job as a reviewer, if they are good, is warning potential customers about value. They might have to moan, criticize or even make a documentary (like GN) if they find out that these companies are hurting us, customers.

- No one said 5090 is a bad GPU, but it's for 0,01% of the market. Do you care about the other 99,99% ?

- NVIDIA market share keeps going up cause there is literally no GPU stock so they can flood the market with whatever they want.

- People who buy these GPUs (5060ti 8GB) are people who might not have another choice (budget limits), do not have time to investigate the market or simply just don't care (parents buying the first GPU for their children).

Without the community of reviewers, we as customers will be f***** upside-down, inside to outsider, milked to the last drop. I'm glad that you enjoy reading reviews about products, like the rest of us here, but just don't sh** on the reviewers community.

Thanks for pounding this card into oblivion. Perhaps it'll send a message to Nvidia and AMD. I can't believe that the 5060 is going to be 8GB as well, the 3060 is still the best 60 series class card they have made in 3 generations. It'll be able to play these games better than the 5060 and 5060 Ti 8GB.

Where I live the 16GB 5060ti costs $520, the 8GB costs $450, 4060ti costs $450, 4060 costs $350 and the 6GB 3050 costs $180. intel b580 costs $300, b570 costs $270 and the old A380 costs $125.

all things considered, the B580 technically gives the most value for budget gamers. however I'm wary of intel support in games so last month I took some risk and bought a used LHR 3060ti for $199 instead. somehow I'm convinced even the old 8GB 3060ti is still faster than the 8GB 5060ti.

this also reminds me of the 3.5GB GTX970 saga. the story of a card crippled by its VRAM.

I never tire of their contrived testing, choose the outcome first, make the video to prove it second.

None of this matters except to the discerning. They will sell millions to both unsuspecting fools and in "custom built" & OEM systems.

Why should Nvidia care for the other 99.99% of the market?

Also, how are consumers being hurt? They dont have to buy these products. They are absolute luxury items.
