I was playing Skyrim earlier today when my computer locked up on me (this happens from time to time, my video card over heats and I've just been too lazy to buy a new one that isn't a piece of junk). I had to hold down the power button to boot it back up and when I got back to my desktop none of my programs would play sound. I heard system sounds just fine and I could test my headphones from the control panel just fine also. I found out that none of the programs I boot are being put into my audio mixer and when trying to boot up Skyrim again it gave me this message "No sound device detected. Skyrim cannot run".
