Outlook Express inserts an unwanted word

I am helping out a friend who has a problem with Outlook Express.
When he clicks Reply to an email the reply window comes up with the word "Blank" on a line by itself and then followed by his signature.
We have been unable to fix this.
Can anyone tell me, please, how to make it stop?

Did you try editing the signature? Maybe something has become corrupted and instead of just the signature it also inserts the word BLANK? That would be my first guess. Take a look at that.

Hi, thanks for that. We tried the signature and it's not that. I have a feeling it may be a stationery problem and I'm looking at that now.

If you or anyone has had a similar problem and found a way to fix it, I'd love to hear it.
