P4 and celeron

I just bought a new motherboard CPU bundle, it came with an intel celeron cpu 3ghz (socket 478). my old CPU is and intel p4 1.6ghz. which should i use? i know the L2 cache is 256k on the celeron, its nothing compared to the p4's 1mb. But is it worth sacrificing my cache for the faster core speed?

That Celeron has got faster FSB and a better core than the P4. I'd say this new Celly will wipe the floor with your old P4 at pretty much anything.
