PC game will not install

Hello everyone. I was given a PC [DVD] game called Medal of Honor...Airborne
When I try to install, it gets to the point where the installation Wizard says : "configuring windows" and then it just stops! The game does not install, its as though I never loaded the DVD in the drive! I've tried it several times but the same thing happens.
Would anyone have any suggestions?
I'm running Windows XP and have installed other similar games with no problems.
Any advice would be appreciated.

From searching around a bit I found that Nvidia card owners have issues due to PhysX - LINK

If that didn't help, is this game by any chance a rip? Not here to judge but sometimes rips can be corrupted which in turn wont properly install. Hope this helps.

You are right that I use a newly installed Nvidia card and just when I see a flash of that PhysX pop up window comes on is when it stops installing.
I will check out that link you sent. Thanks for your expertise.
