Petitions demanding Jeff Bezos not be allowed back to Earth gain almost 100,000 signatures

The more I look into your "facts" The more hollow it has become. So you blame Amazon from -----> "We know that drivers can and do have trouble finding restrooms because of traffic or sometimes rural routes, and this has been especially the case during Covid when many public restrooms have been closed," the company said Friday in a blog post. So buddy who's fault is this? This was a temporary problem lol! Yeah totally done with you. You do mean well so I give you that but I am ruining this site going on and on and it's a tech site. I rally have to end it here and had a long day as it is.
Ok brother, so your entire defense is that Amazon denied it? Wow, who saw that coming?

Thats right everyone, work hard and fight to make more money....but don't you dare make too much or we'll collectively kick you off the f***ing planet.

we live in a weird time.

The title is what blew my mind and ticked me off. Because of what the people think and signed now Bezo's will probably screw us over because he can. It's like the news tells us who is evil the one who makes a lot of money is "always" evil and instead of hate we must admit most of us are jealous.
Anyway well said and you made a lot of points within a short comment.

**************** Moral of my story here**********************************************

This makes me think of a bunch of little kids saying, DON'T LET HIM BACK INTO THE TREE HOUSE! He's a meanny poopie pants evil person! Lets throw sticks & rocks at him!

The irony is that now if Bezo's wasn't evil he will be evil now. If he was evil he will be even MORE evil now. I don't blame him if I saw all those signatures I would be evil too. You *****s just created a monster lol.

Wrong man. The monster created the *******s.
Anti Bezos sentiment was miniscule by comparison until it was found that he pays no taxes.

You should get a job at Amazon's packaging center, because clearly you don't know a goddamn thing on the subject. Bezos has built a legalized slavery empire, without any care for people who work for him.
legalized slavery empire you say? Well, real slaves were whipped or killed for not meeting the quota. Amazon workers are just fired and get to move on with their lives and do something else. But you call that slavery. You left nut jobs are going to soon call marriage equal to slavery. Or kids being told to clean up after themselves is slavery. You guys always find something to ***** about that has nothing to do with you. I bet you are shopping on Amazon right now

100% agree with that. I'm a supporter of universe flat tax. So as you might imagine, when someone is caught weaseling out of their fair share of taxes, I get upset.
Taxes are a theft everywhere. If the guy managed to evade that usual crap, my kudos to him.

And it sounds like you are bent over in front of Bezos right now, as the right does. So who is worse?
Making a point with absurdity makes you a weasel, not an informed American.

I don't suppose NASA has a Spare Saturn 5 they could "lend him", do they?
First SLS doesn't fly until early next year. Until then they would have to contract to a orbital launcher like ULA or SpaceX to launch him out of here. Blue Origins first orbital vehicle got pushed back to 2023.

FROM THE HEADLINE:
"Petitions demanding Jeff Bezos not be allowed back to Earth"

I have been thinking about this, and I know it is quite harsh, not to mention intending to be humorous. But why not charge him a re-entry fee of $36 billion. That's 18% of his current net worth.

And it sounds like you are bent over in front of Bezos right now, as the right does. So who is worse?

I'm a Canadian sir! and I think that is racist of you to imply I'm American. But I ask you, home much **** have you purchased from amazon this year. you sound like the type that says, do what I say, not as I do mentality

Do you really not get it yet? Nobody rails at massive success, people get pissed at that kind of success with a zero tax contribution. Some people still don't get that and that is maybe the biggest reason that we "live in a wierd time".
We call it 'having skin in the game'.

Well, that explain that, but I'm not saying not to buy from Amazon. I'm saying that people like Bezos need to pay their fair share. If any of us was him, we would have been jailed.

Gotta love the "Democrat Sheep Affect." Just copy and follow along people that hate someone for no reason or poor reason why. STUPIDITY & EMOTION at it's best....................

You're real enemy is the guy that is our so called president, the guy that can't even complete a sentence that's on his cheat cards in front of him. Even CNN has called him out where he is told to only answer questions from certain reporters! That's CNN calling him out! CNN!

I guess you were clearly and conveniently napping those 4 years under that Orange Dump *****.

He a had a vocabulary and speech pattern that an 8 year old would be ashamed of!! and, don't forget his "intelligent" nuggets of wisdom such as to drink / inject bleach to cure COVID...the epitome of humanoid intelligence!!

Bezos net worth is not Amazons. Knowing a persons "net worth" is like having a W2. Its probably under stated, but it seems as though 200 billion is a good reference point. Now, just apply the tax code. Its basic stuff.
To help with this, You have a home worth $300,000 but you bought it at $100,000 a few years ago. Will, you be fine with paying a tax on your unrealized gains before selling the house,

So tell me then, if an Amazon fulfillment center were the only place hiring in your town, and you were out if work, would you take the job, or would you sit on your a**, "out of principle", and let your family starve?

I always enjoy the "idealistic and misguided ramblings": of low time members, just don't expect me to agree with them.

I think I disagree with you on a lot of topics on this forum, and you probably classify me as a low time member also. I don't take to heart because I know it is just an opinion. (I won't change mine until new data is there and is convincing).

But this time, I most definitely agree with you. It seems the class war is alive and well in America (and plenty of other nations including mine). The well off don't realise what options are it seems. When you have money, or grew up with a well off family, you have options. You can decide, "no" I won't go work for that company.
Plenty don't have those options and have to take anything available to them, even if it goes against their morals or principal's, because they are just trying to survive.

Thank you for giving an example for those who do not understand, unfortunately, even the best example can be tossed aside by those too ignorant to open their minds. Much like politicians, seems, instead of a public servant, they are now serving themselves and in it for the money and power and nothing else. And that is why these sorts of companies are still able to operate and exploit their workers.

I really don't understand all the angst & hate for Jeff Bezos. We're not talking about a guy who wants to control the world(Tim Cook), we're talking about a man who wants to make the world a better place and help forward science progress.

Business Insider:
Amazon’s founder didn’t want hourly workers to stick around for long, viewing “a large, disgruntled” work force as a threat, [former H.R. vice president] Mr. Niekerk recalled. Company data showed that most employees became less eager over time, he said, and Mr. Bezos believed that people were inherently lazy.

I'm not sure if you understand the word "slavery". People purposefully pursue these warehouse jobs for the money. They are not forced to work against their will and without pay. Whenever I'm working a job I can't stand, I get as much out of the job as I can and wait until the day I'm able to put in my two weeks notice and find another job. People are complaining about working a tough job that doesn't pay much. There are lots of jobs just like that everywhere. These jobs just like shift work jobs aren't a place to make a career they are jobs for people with no choice or they are a job people take until they get a better one.

When I worked in the restaurant business we often didn't get a break unless orders slowed down if they didn't you didn't get a break. The conditions were very hot and if you messed up no one was going to nice about it. It was hard on my body and mind and after two years of it I realized I'm not tough enough to get good and wouldn't be able to move up so I found another career that was easier on my body and mind.

If I'm applying for a job where I'm not sure what the job will be like I ask questions during the interview and look for people who are already working that job to see what they think. Finally it's not as if Jeff himself is a floor supervisor at any of these warehouses. That's like being angry at the US President for the USPS losing a package.

It's the American Dream to make billions and pay no taxes... Amazon's vehicles are all over the road, and somehow it's as if it's a crime to pay taxes to help fix the roads now to.
You seem to have forgotten who writes tax policy and affect politics: rich people. You think Jeff's CPA broke the law or do you think the CPA followed tax laws written by rich people for rich people? Stop pointing your finger at the billionaire who, probably, followed tax laws to the letter and was able to avoid paying taxes and start being angry at the people who wrote the tax laws instead.
