Philips 5.1 surround set(with onboard AC97),subwoofer doesn't work

Hi,
I have an onboard Realtek AC97 souncard. When i put in my surround system everything seems to work fine except the subwoofer. When i pull out the center/subwoofer jack, my subwoofer starts to work, but of course i don't have any surround sound then.
I've tried new drivers but it doesn't change anything.
Maybe some hardware malfunction?

Can you check the connections for the Centre/Subwoofer, seems like they might be routed incorrectly (i.e. the sub channel is actually being sent to the Centre channel & vice versa) What speakers are they anyway? Do they feature bass management?

i have rthe same problem, all my connections are routed correctly, this has only started since i installed vista...have installed the latest AC97 Realtek download for Vista but still no good.... any ideas?
