I just bought the prescott chip 478 socket at 2.8 Ghz. I am currently using a Celron Prossesor with (2) 512MB PC3200 DDR RAM 333Mhz/400Mhz. Will this increase the speed of my computer and if so, what type of diffrence should I see? Also can I use the stock OEM Celeron fan on the Prescott chip?

The RAM will be fine, as will the Heatsink. Clean off all the old gunk & use some decent Heatsink paste {a bit about the size of a grain of rice in the Centre of CPU} and you'll be fine.
The Prescott will be considerably faster, how much depends on the speed of your old Celeron, but expect to knock off about 30sec from a 2m SuperPi.
