I have enabled my printer for sharing, it is plugged in to my wireless router as it was before but i can not print from any laptop, or computer.

Which PC is it attached too? Or is it a network printer? To make it available to your computers just make sure that the USB printer has been shared out (you said you already did this) next for each pc do this...

1. click on start
2. click on run
3. type: \\computer name or IP address where you have the printer connected to?
4. once that window appears right click on that shared printer
5. click on connect
6. that's it, the printer is now setup on your PC

repeat steps 1-5 for each PC on your network...

What do you mean they're not working? Is this printer shared on a PC?

Example: PC#1 is attached to a USB Printer
If you click on start
Then on Print and Faxes
Locate your printer
The right click then click on shared or sharing
Give it a Name Like HP_Color8000
Once the underhand icon is displayed then you can run those commands above. That's how I do it for users in corporate business. There are other ways to do it but the above works on home networks, workgroups and domains.

.

The printer is connect to the wireless router which is connected to the main household computer. And it is being shared

does this say you've solved the issue?

let's be clear and start from the top.

First I assume your wifi printer is running from ONE system but somehow has yet
to be shared with the other system(s).

here's the steps necessary for sharing:
  1. enable simple sharing on all systems
  2. share the printer on the system that is printing
  3. enable print/file sharing in your firewall
  4. make sure ALL systems are using the same workgroup name (both in spelling and upper/lower case letters)

Okay there is another way....

So the printer is connected to the wireless router.
Is this a wireless printer?
Or is this a wired printer connected to the wireless router?

Are you using USB on the Printer to connect it to the wireless router?
Does the wireless router see the printer. Do you get an IP address for
the printer.
