Problem with new pc

hello @ all members
i just got a new pc
with a tower from ''PACKARD BELL'' = Model : imedia D4711 SP
&
a Monitor from ''ACER'' = Model : x193HQL b

when reached home connected all cables where should be connected

when i turn on the pc the monitor shows
'' NO SIGNAL ''

when i remove the cable from pc or monitor, the screen shows
'' CABLE NOT CONNECTED ''

what can be the problem?
coz all stuff is brand new..

I take it you are in Great Britain... as I believe that is the last place where Packard Bell is still sold.
They usually provide a check list with photographs... It is clear that something simple is not connected properly, but hard for us to guess where and what it is.

i had the same problem the time i bought my new system,
found out that i connect the DVI cable wrongly ,it suppose to be connected to the graphic card,which is situated at the lower part of my destop,
