I am in the process of repairing a Windows 10 installation for someone. As well as their data they asked if it would be possible to keep all their games and programs as well.
I'm recovering the files as we speak and I've noticed they have Steam installed as well as a few standlone games and I'm wondering if I copy the Program Files folder across what effect this would have going forward. Obviously they would have to reinstall Steam etc themselves to get it working but would it keep their - for instance - game progress etc?
Or is it a case that once the programs have been reinstalled this information would be overwritten?
