Yep, because once you start playing on one then you dont feel like playing on the other one because you're used to the one you normally play on which is....

I think it's bye bye Microsoft (xbox360) lol :D

Gears of War 2 is all the 360 needs to stay alive, and that isn't even the only promising game coming out. While PS3 has been surviving almost entirely on the promises of MGS4 and Devil May Cry 4 (which isn't even exclusive anymore).

I'd say the PS3 survives because not many games are exclusive 2 one console. MGS4 will indefinitely help sell more units buts its not the sole reason why people own one.

Who out of all the people who have posted in this thread, other than me and vnf4ultra, actually own a PS3? I own a PS3, 360, and a Wii. I've had the 360 since launch day(sat in line a local Wal-mart for 4 hours) and it was a great system until I got the 'Rings O' Death' in January, and now I dont consider it worth the $140 to get it repaired off warranty because I know it will only happen again. I was around and watch'd the 360 mature over the last year and a half and I am now watching the PS3 get all the same features with updates. The way I see it, the PS3 with be able to do everything the 360 can online by the end of the year, maybe even sooner, that is really the only thing they are lacking right now. I'm perfectly content with the 3 PS3 games I own(Motorstorm, Resistance, and Full Auto 2) and I've only beaten one of them so far(Resistance in Co-op) I'm really looking forward to Lair, Killzone, Unreal 3, and maybe MGS4. I've never really got into the metal gear series but with all the hype about it I may have to at the very least rent it.

I dontknow if someone said this earlier, but if you get the rings of death, microsoft sends you a brand new 360.

2008 seems like a good year for the PS3, I've read that by 2011 the PS3 will have surpassed the Xbox in sales and be close to the Wii.

Sony may come close or catch up to the 360 or Wii, but that still doesnt make up for the 6 years of money down the crapper because of poor, poor marketing. By then there will be far better systems for sale. To pick a ps3 over something like, say, a PC is completely obsurd. It does not have near the versatility of a PC, nor the vast amounts of titles that are released for both it, and the 360. For the price of a ps3, you could have bought a decent home/office PC, not good enough to play large games, but still versatile enough to play games, use a properly functional and easy to use internet, and much more. Also, the Wii will probably drop it's sales by a great amount. Nintendo, if anyone has noticed, is like a marketing tool. If a new Mintendo product is released, people will buy it. Nintendo is for fanboys and it sucks people into buying it. As a victim of this, I know, and I would have much rather spent my $250 on something else. The Xbox is a much better choice than both the ps3 and the Wii. sure, it comes with problems, but hey, waiting 1 1/2-2 weeks wont kill you to wait for a FREE new 360 when you are hit with the ring of death or other common problems. And to cap it all off, you still got a good years worth or more of exellent play time from your 360 and even more time if you take care of your console (like not leaving it on when you arn't playing it)

2008 = Year of the PS3!

That is obsurd, it depends what you want the object you're buying for. I have both a PS3 and a PC. Would i have bought my PS3 if i didn't own a PC, yes. For many reasons, i have owned all 3 PS systems and they have all been great, i prefer console gaming and various other things. If you want versatility then yes buying a PS3 would be more stupid than getting a PC.

Yes it does come with problems, Yes MS will send you a new one for the meer price of P&H but what happens if it manages to last beyond warranty? and who actually WANTS to send their console away every other month losing all your stuff on the HDD and other things. The guys at The Inquirer Sent there 360 away to MS when it got the RRoD and MS stole the 360's faceplate it had on. Exellent playt time? if i want to play with something that is louder than a 747 and breaks all the time i'll go to the airport *never fly Jetstar*

Hah yea Jetstar gives me the S***s when they cancel your flight and make you wait several hours in a tiny little airport in newcastle about an hour from anywhere decent :(

LMfaooo yea i own a 360 and a PS3 and yet my PS3 still gets more play time. I have had my PS3 since 12-27-06 and the only issue i encounter is the tripple beep if and when a game may freeze. Other than that PS3 has been great. The 360 I bought on black friday, no discounts! I even waited a month b4 i could play it because i didnt get the extended warranty.

I am building my PC now and I can still tell you that the PS3 will get more burn time than anything else. The 360 Elite is just too damn loud.

I like to do more playing than prasing. And as well as you jtnicker1 I have owned all 3 PS consoles, including the PSP in which I really dont use much :( (4 systems)

Yeah forgot to mention the trusty ol' PSP. I had one but sold it to get my PS3 :D, 100% worth the effort

Do any of you know if the 60gb PS3 is going to come back to the UK because it has been discountinued in the UK quite a bit ago and i want the 60GB one!!!

I have a PS2 and the 40gb PS3 has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games.

yea i bought my PSP cuz of the remote play feature that sony still has to perfect. I think ima sell mine and just buy another because i cant update my PSP firmware :(

And i think ur F'd cuz the 60GB has been DC in the states as well. The 80GB has the best BC for PS2 gamez.

I'll need a trip to Japan one day then. lol.

Whats the difference between the 60gb and the 80gb one apart from the hard drive size ??

Besides the Chipset in which i dont really know the detail the 80GB only has 2 USB ports not 4, bigger HDD and it has i believe about 85% BC with PS2 games. 99% PS2 games work on the 60GB which i own. Check em out in Wiki

Conflicting Info here, i'm pretty sure the 60GB is better though

Well i just finished Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and it is one of the best games i've ever played.

I highly reccomend it to anyone with a PS3

Also, Resistance 2!

If you make note of the date I posted that statement(post #25) you would see it was 2 months before they extended the warranty to 3 years and 5 months after my 1 year warranty had expired(launch console). At that point the console was completely off warranty and I was expected to pay half the cost I originally paid for it just to repair it. It has since been repaired twice and is actually broken right now(RROD again....) I was actually able to enjoy Halo3 for about a month before it rrod'd on me. I have yet to play Mass Effect and have lost nearly 7 months of prepaid Live Gold membership because of failures(5 months alone when my console was off warranty and I refused to pay for repairs). If this thing fails on me after my 3 year warranty is over (Nov '08) it is going straight in the garbage and I will think twice about ever getting a microsoft hardware product.

Also, hamas123 Uncharted is a third-person action adventure game, kind of a cross between indiana jones and tombraider as far as the story goes. An excellent game IMHO, I also just recently beat it on normal difficulty and now I need to go thru it again on hard and get all the hidden treasures.

And RFOM2, OMFG this year is going to be an amazing for PS3 owners, excellent AAA games are going to be continuously coming out for us this year.

The 60GB PS3 better come back to the UK because poeple like me want that one, not the 40GB. Has no PS2 backwards compatibility and a couple of other stuff. Sony, if you want your to catch up with the xbox in sales i suggest you bring the 60GB back.

Buy the 80GB, and upgrade ur HDD. Im going to upgrade my HD as well prolly by the time GTA4 comes out.

lol well i had a ****-box-3-fix-me around a 2months ago it died (obiously) and i just bought a new 80gb Ps3 theres only one thing that i miss about my **** box is the online gameplay its just more interactive then ps3
