Hi,
recently i've been having a strange problem with my psu.
every once in a while, about 6 hours in between, my psu would start making some very strong noises, as if it's heating up or gonna explode or something, and after about a minute, it'll calm down again.
the computer itself is unaffected, it doesn't slow down or freeze or anything, it goes on as if nothing happened.
i tried disabling my gpu, and the sound persists, disabled ram, still making noises, safe mode, didn't change.

anyone got a clue as to what's happening?

Thanks!

If you are sure the sound is coming from the PSU, it could be that it is failing or perhaps it is the PSU fan. If so, don't wait until it fails completely before replacing it.

Hey,
the noise is a constant noise, like a really loud, high toned hum.
i'm sure it's coming from the psu, i tried stopping the fan with a piece of plastic, still makes noises.
and it makes the noises during idle.

P.S
i bought this psu 4 months ago could it be failing now?...

Well, ordinarily you wouldn't expect it to but anything electronic or mechanical can fail earlier than expected. That's why they have warrantys. Check the warranty and perhaps you can return it for a new one. If you wait until it blows, it can take out other components like the motherboard.

What brand and model is it?
