Reformatted my com,but a lot of problems.pls help me.

I just reformatted my harddrive,and im using a dialup internet connection.So when i connected to internet,Theres some internet sites which keep popping up and also some spywares that install itself automatically such as Zango bar and CashBack.Pls Im not sure what to do any more since i formatted my com already!

Did you install any Antivirus program? Firewall? Adaware? Spybot?
When you install a PC, ALWAYS physically disconnect it from the web until you have at least an Antivirus program in place

There are a number of Preventive steps you MUST take before sending

a 'fresh' computer out into the wild!

Is the Operating System a Windows product? WinXP hopefully?

Dialup is a TRAGEDY! You will wait hours for downloads, literally...

1st. Go to Tools in the toolbar (closest to top border), and highlight
Windows Update.

This will scan after downloading a small application...

If you have a bare system, it might take hours to accomplish downloads and
reboots. You might have to download Service Pack 2 and 20 or 30 odd
updates. Whew! Service Pack 2 is 75 Meg. . [actually it's 275MB! Get the free CD from M$! added by RealBlackStuff]

You will then need Antivirus and Antispam and Adware protection.
These are 3 levels of protection. Also you will need Spywareblaster to
stop Java attacks, making it a 4th level.

When you reformat, you have to reconstruct all this protection.

When you get done with the Windows Update, go to Komando.com

i dont know about all that...i just have a virus scanner and im careful about what is downloaded....if you have kids or other people use your computer, or you visit different sites all the time, then you would want to lock it down...otherwise you shouldnt have problems

reformat it again
and as realblackstuff has said run a good firewall and av before connecting to internet
I myself don't use AV just 2 types of firewalls
and run antispy apps every so often
saying that Ill catch a bug I just know it.
