Replacing Vista with XP on Laptop

I have a Toshiba A205 laptop with Vista installed, but want to replace it with XP.
I have installed the XP BIOS from Toshiba, and tried to install xp SP2 but got the message "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer"
When I check this XP BIOS in the Advanced section the cursor skips over the Fujitsu MHY2120BH ATA device entry.

I guess no drivers for the Fujitsu HDD in either the BIOS or XP, but am lost on how to proceed. Help please

You will either need to install AHCI Sata drivers OR change the bios settings to recognize the Sata drive as Pata.

HDD not recognised

Thanks for that.
In the "Main" page of the BIOS the cursor jumps over the HDD as it scrolls down, so can't get at any sub-menu to alter settings (PATA to SATA). I expected the HDD driver to be in the BIOS download.
If I could find the driver on the Fujitsu site, I am still stuck since I can't install it until Windows is installed (catch 22).
Have I missed something fundamental?
Thanks
