Resolution problem???

i've just bought a new tft monitor LG194WT but i'm havin some problem with the display. On each end of the screen i have two black vertical stripes, for some reason the background image does not cover these two areas and leaves them black??

I set the resolution to 1440x900 as the instruction manual recommend, but as i change the resolution to somthing else the problem disappears. but obviously the resolution on the specification says 1440x900 therfore i cnt leave it at another resolution as the displays look as though someone has zoomed in!

some plz help????

Your wallpaper does not have the proper aspect ratio for widescreen perhaps? In display properties, tell it to stretch the background image.
