Please, is it possible to restore the WinXP Pro from DVD Copy and not from backup?
I had to use the DVD copy. So far, I have got to a blue screen with the task manager being possible to open by ctrl-alt-dot. Some programs are possible to run others are missing *.dll files and do not run. The explorer, control panel, etc. seem to be missing. The copied System.sys, software.sys, sam.sys, security.sys, and default.sys from windows\system32\config have been reported as corrupted. Therefore, they have been repaired from \windows\repair\ folder. Apparently, the original information from the above corrupted files has been lost.
