Rockstar says update your graphics drivers to fix Red Dead Redemption 2's PC problems

The suggestions so far have made the game "usable", but not really "playable." It's laggy, it studders, it locks up- it's completely unoptimized.

As a comparison, Far Cry 5 and Witcher 3 run smooth as silk on my PC with all graphics settings on high, but RDR2 barely runs with all settings on medium.

Remember the days when gaming companies would release a playable demo before releasing the game? We need to go back to that. This "beta test the game on paying customers" model blows.

That sounds more like the CPU. Gamersnexus was reporting that some Ryzen 2 and non-hyperthreading intel cpus are having some serious problems, particularly at 1080p.

Why? I bought it on their launcher, it works fine for me.

So did I. Cannot get the game to launch despite applying all the fixes, workarounds and tweaks that Rockstar have offered. Fully updated Windows 10 Pro (v19.03), latest Nvidia drivers, latest motherboard BIOS.

So did I. Cannot get the game to launch despite applying all the fixes, workarounds and tweaks that Rockstar have offered. Fully updated Windows 10 Pro (v19.03), latest Nvidia drivers, latest motherboard BIOS.

GN could not get RDR2 to launch on 2 X570 Gigabyte mobos with latest BIOS and had to resort to an MSI Meg to do their AMD testing. Perhaps you are seeing a similar issue.

I simply googled a fix, add an exception to your av... I turned off Avasts shields, it worked, so I uninstalled avast and started using windows defender. Took me less then a min. And as always I updated my drivers , it's a day one game..... Pretty much pc 101 AMD CPU GPU. no issues yet

I just had to update my bios, which was released 2 days after the launch.
Just normal computer stuff
