Hey :

1st lemme say that neither me nor my friend know anything about router to router setups, so we need to know a few things. He's got a TP-Link W542G v4 wireless router, and a D-Link wired router, he wants to setup a 2 router environment and in the TP-Link config subnet can only be set as 255.255.255.0 or 255.255.0.0 nothing else ...

How do we set things up so all his 4 PCs work as well as wireless connection for iPhone ?

P.S : D-Link HAS to be the one connected to Internet via WAN .... Not TP-Link !

Please help !

connect thusly
Code:
modem-- {wan}router#1{lan} --- {lan}router#2 {lan}--- other systems
              | |
+ --- wired or wireless +-- wired or wireless
on router#2, disable the DHCP feature

router#1 will now control ALL systems and print/file sharing is also possible

you can, but the devices attached to the second router will not share well with those on the first :)

If you enable BOTH to have DHCP, you create two subnets and need to also set a separate IP address for router#2.

If you disable DHCP, the router#1 runs the whole show :)
