No excuse is good enough to switch to Linux.
Linux is reliable and looks nice, but mostly worthless.

Yeah, like any one user is SO special that Microsoft would actively want to "spy" on them. People need to get over it. There is no anonymity on the internet, but Google, Microsoft, etc. doesn't collect anything on you that is of any real value, other than to customize ads - which anyone can block.
Stay on topic!
The article is about blocking the download of Windows 10 and 11
Let's get some real evidence of who it was that banned the downloads before we go offtopic
Why would Microsoft not allow Russians to download a Spyware Platform that could be used against the Russians?
I mean, we know why Russia would ban the downloads, but why would Microsoft?
Maybe not yet in the US, but in China isn't stuff like that either already included or proposed for inclusion in your "social credit score"?I hope they’re having fun looking at all my save games on my Windows gaming PC. Like the juicy Crusader Kings saves with incest, human sacrifices, devil worship and marrying a horse. Oh, and the cannibal colony in Rimworld. Good times and totally worth having a special agent look into.
Windows 11? And you "make your living on my PC"?! I'd start looking for a new line of work!It is fun to play with, but I make my living on my PC, working part of the time from home. And there are no Linux versions of the specialized programs I use, so I have no choice but to run Windows. Frankly, I'm fine with that. I'm running Windows 11, and haven't had a single issue with it, or Windows 10 for that matter.
Why? I've been running Windows 11 for a few months now, and I'm currently running 22H2. I haven't had a single issue with it - not one. I never had a problem with Windows 10, either. I've been working with computers since the 1970s, and owned a computer business for a decade. I realized long ago that most problems people complain about are their own fault. If you use quality hardware and know what you're doing, Windows is just fine.Windows 11? And you "make your living on my PC"?! I'd start looking for a new line of work!
Generally, you can count on people who gainsay privacy and free speech as having nothing worth hiding, nor saying, whatsoever.Yeah, like any one user is SO special that Microsoft would actively want to "spy" on them. I've been using Windows 10 for years, and 11 for the last several months, both at work, and when I work from home two days a week. I've racked up hundreds upon hundreds of hours doing intensive spreadsheet work and audio editing in that time, and I have never had a single problem with Windows 10 or 11. "It isn't the arrow: It's the archer"...That is a good thing. Windows 10 and 11 are shite and everyone who has to do WORK (not gaming, social networking and watching films) knows it or they will soon find out.
"Windows is just fine". Windows 7 perhaps, but not Windows 10 or 11. We've been running Windows 10 for a few weeks at work and we've had a nasty surprise from it,from day one, with focus stealing. Why? Been using Windows 10 for several years at work, on a massive network with about 4,000 users, and haven't had the first issue with it. Again, the problem isn't with the arrow. It's with the archer."Windows is just fine". Windows 7 perhaps, but not Windows 10 or 11. Quality hardware has little to do with the running of Windows 10 or 11. It really isn't a factor and therefore deserves no mention. Why? Running both Windows 10 and 11 without 1 issue in the "several years" you've been using it!? Please come over and help us at Microsoft Community - because it seems you can cut down my daily workload.Been using Windows 10 for several years at work, on a massive network with about 4,000 users, and haven't had the first issue with it. I get the feeling talking up MS incessantly is his job.Quality hardware has little to do with the running of Windows 10 or 11. It really isn't a factor and therefore deserves no mention.

Don't be a smartass. I've been working with computers since before you were born, and having once owned a successful computer business from which I built and repaired countless hundreds of computers, the last thing I want to do is have to deal with kids that think they know everything again.Quality hardware has little to do with the running of Windows 10 or 11. Feelings are often misleading. I've been working with computers since the 1970s, but I do not now, or have I ever worked for Microsoft. I just grow tired of people bitching about Windows when it works fine if you know what you're doing.I get the feeling talking up MS incessantly is his job.![]()
Well, there is nothing I can do about it, I'm neither the arrow nor the archer, I'm the bow. I just use a piece of software that worked fine in Windows 7 and now it's stealing focus in a very annoying and immersion braking way on the new Windows 10 computer.Been using Windows 10 for several years at work, on a massive network with about 4,000 users, and haven't had the first issue with it.
