Socket 754 to AM2

Will a Athlon 64 2800+ fit and run properly into a Socket AM2 motherboard?

..Just a guess here but the AM2 socket has 940 contacts and the 754 has 754 contacts. I'd say negative...

Yes, I'm having trouble locating a socket 754 motherboard. i have a good Athlon 64 2800+ that I'd like to use
