I recently bought a new Hp compuuter and it came with wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. All I had to do was screw on an antenna to the back of the computer. Well I messed with in a few times. Then recently I went back to set it up and now its wants a security key and and I never put one in!

How do I change this????? Any thoughts or comments??

Are you talking about when you try to connect to your wireless network? If you didn't put a key on your network (shame on you), then you should just log into the router and change the settings to disable it.

However I highly suggest you create some type of security on your wireless network. This will help keep others out and help keep your data private.

This is easy. Just manually reset the router.

Disconnect the router but leave the power on. Check the router for reset pin. If you can't find it, there should be a diagram on the bottom telling you where it is. Use a pin or pen and hold the reset button down for 15 seconds. Reconnect the router. Access the router using the web browser or launch the setup program from the CD for the router.

ALL WIRELESS is configured with a wired connection first!

reset the router per the comment above.

then access the router (wired) via the default address
Netgear 192.168.0.1
D-Link 192.168.0.1
Linksys 192.168.1.1
Belkin 192.168.2.1
set a new ADMIN password immediately

relogin to the router and setup as you see fit
