Something in XP is deleting "remember me" and cookies

I thought I had this problem fixed by assembling a new "user profile" but it has started again. "remember me"s go away (e.g. eBay is supposed to keep you signed on for 24 hours) then it gets faster and faster and eventually deletes all cookies as fast as XP creates them. New "user profile" seems dubious and a lot of work. But curiously it does keep some tracking cookies longer.

Have you any maintenance software installed that is designed to 'keep your PC tidy'? If not, you may have something very similar that you did not knowingly install, and it is called malware....check this site, forum Virus and Malware removal

I have Norton Internet Security 2010 and Norton Utilities 14. I don't think they are malware.
