Sony vaio usb problems

(I hope I spelt that right!).

Could someone tell me, on the Sony vaios' are the usb ports (on the back) connected directly to the main board? As I am wondering if it is possible to repair or replace them?

Any help much appreciated.

that depends on your model. most vaios use integrated USB than is built right into the motherboard. other models have a pci card installed.

sony vaios are terrible computers, especially from the standpoint of assembly and component choices. so don't be surprised if you finally get the stupid case open and find that you can't do anything about the problem.

perhaps more detailed information of your problems would help...
