Every time I boot up the pc it works fine, however when I try to log on either
  1. Blue screens after a few seconds
  2. gets to the desktop, but everything is frozen
  3. doesn't even load the desktop and gets stuck on a black screen.

When I do get onto the desktop a warning message is displayed in the wallpaper saying "warning spyware detected....etc"

hijackthis log attached

btw is there a reason that mcafee didnt protect me against this, or is it that mcafee is rubbish.

thanks

A "Rogue" !?

Hi :

Based on your description, it is usually recommended to use a FREE program
called "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware", available at www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php ; however, since it is downloaded over the
internet IF you are able to connect to the net WITHOUT "logging" on, do so .
Otherwise, you should download the program using a friend's computer or a local
library and have it "burned" onto a CD which could then be installed into your
computer !? IF you do the latter, make sure the "Updates" are "burned" along
with the "regular" program .

Try to boot into safe mode with networking, If then you are able to connect to Internet download "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" and run it in safe mode.
