the OTL has been running for 45 min. is this alright?
I was not instructed to disable anything ...I notice norton
is running a background task.

The OTL says process complete with green bars indicating it reached the end but the OTL screen is stilll up just sitting on the screen ... maybe creating a restore point? Should it take this long? The log has not yet been produced and the screen is locked so that i cannot interfere

awsMBR

ok it allowed me to close the norton popup and as soon as i did the OTL completed. before i delete tools thought i'd better check in with results:

All processes killed

I have not finished the processes. If i am ok so far i will continue to step 2 and clean up with OTL: may i continue?

Yes happy to donate ...just trying to finish .... downloaded WOT to install .... it brings up a web looking page that says loading settings .... it has been about 20 minutes ... its this about right?
So far did not see the program in the program drop down section

I was successful in downloading Secunia PSI

I downloaded filehippo and tried to run it. it tells me there are 8 updates and 5Betas. When i try to view results it brings up a blank page that says connecting
but it does not seem to be able to connect. please advise. I turned off my antivirus and firewall for a minute to see if that helped and it did not.

also the PSI scans my computer and aborts scan with a green check mark on missing security patches. I can't tell if it is doing anything behind the scenes to fix.
please advise.

going to run defrag and go to bed.
