SVCHOST.EXE application error 0x00000000

  1. On startup in XP, i am getting the dreaded svchost.exe application error
The instruction at 0x00000000 referenced memory at 0x00000000. The memory could not be written.
This is on a new Avertac laptop after i installed HIDE MY IP 2007 software. Removed software but still the error.
The software company is NO help and sure they are not legit.
Anyone out there have a fix or narcotics for me?
