This has been giving me problems for a month now. 100+ reboots.
Most of the time it leaves no trace in the event log.

I ordered a new barebones system with an Asus P4V8X-MX motherboard.

I took the memory, hard drives (2), dvdrw, video card, video capture card, and modem from my old system. That system ran great for over 4 years with often 3+ month uptimes. I don't think they're a factor.

What I've done to troubleshoot :

Flashed BIOS to most recent version
Updated ALL motherboard drivers
Updated ALL drivers for other hardware (AGP video, video capture)
Ran memory stress test with no problems
Swapped memory sticks with spares
Swapped hard drives with spares
Swapped power supply with spares
Removed extra hardware (AGP video, video capture, modem)
Reinstalled Windows numerous times (FFR)
Tried with and without SP2 during multiple FFR's
Disabled System Restore
Disabled Reboot on Failure option
Spent hours upon hours reading forum threads
Monitored via BIOS and ASUS PC Probe software CPU/MB temperatures
Monitored voltages same... with probe while on, with bios after reboot

I post on this forum as a last resort before I send this board back to ASUS as bad. Any more ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

Have you recently installed any new software? If so then try reinstalling it.
Have you recently installed any new hardware? If so then check the drivers.
Always take these steps first for problems like this.

Hope this helps!
