TechSpot Forums have received a major overhaul

Interesting issue: fyi: here's my view of that url:

I too suspect the ISP and/or DNS resolution;
Care to post your TCP config? it's the results from:
  • ipconfig /all

I get the same results as Cliff sometimes, but only very briefly, just before a page loads fully. This is with Windows 7. I only have 1mbs DSL, which could contribute to the slow load.

Newegg seems to be one culprit in causing it.

With that said, I do much better with Firefox on XP, than I do with Windows 7.

Ignore the following as anecdotal:

With XP, I can literally open hundreds of pages. With the 32 bit Windows 7 rig I'm using now, Flash crashes, pages literally strobe from pure back to what is supposed to be on screen, or just black out altogether. Same ISP, same modem / router, two entirely different results. I thought the issue could be from the graphics needs of Aero, so I turned it off. Same problem.

Thanks @cliffordcooley, I want to get to the bottom of this and our CDN provider has already responded with a handful of things we can try. I'll respond in the other thread after running some tests myself.

@ET3D what news item resulted in a 404? I tried a few and they're all fine.

When experiencing issues with browsers, on of the first things to try is to disable all plugins and extensions.
This reduces the number of 'filters' on the tcp traffic (eg redirects, packet scanning) and leaves the list of suspects of your ISP, the Firewall and your antivirus program.

I think it wasn't a news item, but the Lollipop article comments. And I don't see "jump to forum mode" right now when I look at the page (it has a "load all comments" line which does nothing and is there even though all comments are shown).
