A Clean Giveaway
Winning the New Year Giveaway would be great!
Nothing could make my day... my year... but mostly my computer... BETTER!
The last graphics card "situation" that I went through is another story...
I got a new computer for Christmas... from Dell.
I realized that I should have gotten a better graphics card. Oops! Oh well, the people at Dell tell me, on the phone, that I could purchase an upgrade...
No problem, right?...
By the next month, Dell is sending the new graphics card (it took so long because of the Christmas holiday). Hopefully, this should help upgrade my Dimension 3000 that I purchased, through their finance program.
They built and outfitted this system over a month ago... they should know what in the Dell they're doing, right?
They send the wrong card.
By February 2005, Dell has me download a new BIOS... Why would they have me do that? They said the card might need a different BIOS... uhh... I play along with this stupidity, knowing that when I first ran the computer, it was working fine with the on-board graphics. The new card would be in a PCI slot. Is this too hard to understand?
That card didn't work. Dell said (in broken english) that I needed to upgrade my memory to support the card. More finance charges!
In March, another card was sent from Dell. Yep. You guessed it. Wrong card.
All of the while, I am on the phone with customer service, support, and technicians chatting through language translation software that translates Arabic. Just "dandy"... it gets worse...
Four graphics cards later... I have now have a working computer.
From the phone order placed on December 21, to the final working product...
SIX MONTHS!!!
DELL SUCKS!!!!
