Not that I hate Microsoft or anything. I love my Xbox, I really do. But if the customers aren't gonna complain, who is? I mean, its us who's losing isn't it? This will affect Microsoft too, coz more widespread incidents like this are going to tarnish its already "not to squeaky-clean" reputation.

I didn't mean to sound like I hate Microsoft or anything, I love them. They have a great os, an awesome console, and great games (Halo, Dungeon Siege). I just was saying there really isn't a shortage in CA anyway.

A grand givaway to be sure. While i will have to buy lots of other parts I think it's well worth. I look forward to participating in theis excellent contest and I wish you all the best of luck. Those who've seen my thread in Cooling and Modding know I am planning to build a nw PC. If I win, the current plans go out the window, in with better parts.
May the best man (or woman) win! On with the show, tally ho wot, wot.

Now onto a topic. I do not have a console (go PC'S :grinthumb :D ) but if I was to get one the Xbox series is probably the one I go for. People have been complaining hugely about the problems with the XBox 360, but I think we should look at past consoles to see if it is alone. I think not! My best friends have an Xbox AND a PS2, yet they rarely play on the PS2 anymore for two reason. A- the Xbox is moe powerful with much better games, and B- Most games have stopped running on the PS2, it just won't accept them for no real reason. It's just broken. Iv heard that this is fairly widespread. Yes they should deliver a high quality product, but we shouldn't pillory them just because it has some faults, when most other consoles also have faults. It's time to accept that the consoles will always be launched with rare or common problems. It's time to sop whinging and accept that it can't be helped. This doesn't mean however, that a company (not specifically Microsoft, the reported problems are very rare) should get away with sub-standard hardware.

Yeah. But the fact is that there will be games on the PS3 that will never come out on the Xbox 360 and vice versa. The former will be moreso because of the relatively lower power of the Xbox 360 when compared to the PS3. It simply won't be able to run some of the games. Think Metal Gear Solid 6 ;)

However, the main question was that, why is there such a huge difference in reported stock?

Regarding international shipping and customs...
I haven't decided what company will be used, I guess it depends on the country. As for customs, I can ship with a note saying it's a gift and the cost is $1 or something like that.

For supply shortages, the simple fact is they are selling faster tha Microsoft can manufacture them. As for the Asian market, the reason they have such large stocks is that they are happy with what they've got, it'll be a while before the sales figures really start to roll in. One example is Korea, one of their major games is Starcraft, a game several yeas old. They are simply happy with what they've got, they don't do ravening after power quite so much as we do.

Also, you say the PS3 is more powerful, but I think you shouldn't just trust specs, they don't matter as much now as they did three years ago, look at the Radeon X1800XT. This information is from the PCGamer UK review. If you look at the specs (the lesser pipeline count ect), apart from the memory the 7800GTX is superior, but in actual tests, they are neck and neck, and at higher settings the Radeon kicks the pants of the Geforce. It is also the only card that cand run HDR and anti-aliasing. Its' all down to the technologies they use and how well they use them. You may be right, the PS3 may be better than the XBox 360, but until real benchmarks are available, we can make no assumptions.

Another point, am I the only one thats noticed that as consoles have got better they've become more like PC's. Coincidence?

So Microsoft produced a below-average piece of work but I think pretty soon the problems will be fixed and the Xbox 360 will rule the roost. At least until the PS3 arrives.

Microsoft shifted from NVIDIA to ATI for their graphics on the Xbox 360. According to PCGamer UK, as Finchy said, the X1800 XT is superior to the 7800 GTX right? But won't NVIDIA just come up with a better graphics chip and maybe that chip might go into the PS3. What then?
My Question: Will Microsoft's move to integrate ATI graphics into the Xbox 360 take a beating from superior NVIDIA technology that MIGHT be integrated into the PS3?

Well, in the console wars, there is only one deciding factor, the games. The PS3 may have more games, but the Xbox 360 has the Halo series. It also has Perfect Dark Zero, and Call of Duty 2. Get whichever console has the games you want, and don't worry about the specs.

lol, yeahya halo!!!!! whaooo, i think that counts for alot as far as gaming goes.
Thought technically the ps3 has much more..lifting power, as i do believe some might have already pointed out. Meaning with multiple cores, well yeah i think it has like 9 cores right?
