I forgot to add the 's' in https

Chrome does not display correctly NOR does it appear to redirect anywhere

techspot.com/ ==> techspot.com

That is the version I'm using. But I get this error instead of the site loading.
"Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for techspot.com. The certificate is only valid for www.techspot.com.
Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN"
Then the redirection to https:/www. *** is not working. Suggest going to Options -> Privacy and Clear All Data

Primary - 166.102.165.13
Secondary - 207.91.5.20

Do you think the issue is with DNS?
Those are from your ISP and they can control the redirection effort.

Try the google addresses
  • 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
or the cloud
  • 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1
I find it easiest (IMO also the best) to alter the router DNS settings so that all systems attached will get the benefits.

Login, change the Internet DNS settings and just Save

Now disconnect the system you're testing, wait 30 secs and then reattach.

correction:
Google Public DNS operates recursive name servers for public use at the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPv4, and 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844, for IPv6. The addresses are mapped to the nearest operational server by anycast routing.

I assume you are not configured with a proxy between you and your ISP (some antivirus' will do that).

I haven't done any optimizations like that. No special antivirus either, Windows default.

This is what I'm looking at.

OH this is fun Cliff.

I cant tell where this is anchored and thus verify it.
The install date of Aug 12, 2019 is suspicious to say the least as the the goofy authority name "Let's Encrypt Authority X3"

runas /user:administrator cmd

then enter Certmgr

You will see several top levels

sadly there is no Search!!

I would expect your cert to be in
  • trusted root cert auth -> certs
  • Intermediate cert auth -> certs
  • Third-party root Cert auth -> certs

I just found www.techspot.com cert on my system:

so the Cert is good and the issue is the mechanics of redirection are the issue
