This guy built an all-electric '68 Mustang that'd put a Tesla Model S in its place

The Model S has a range of 280+ Miles and can do a battery swap in under 2 minutes, without you even getting out of the car. You should follow your own advice and do your homework, and think critically. Then maybe you can avoid embarrassing corrections like this from strangers on the internet. Less whining and bitching, more critical thinking. Okay? ;-)

Not really sure how a electric awsome car is rellavent, every male in the good ole us of a lays awake at night dreaming of the day he is floating down the road in a f--- one fitty, 3 tons of fun, let's burn all the fossil fuel without anything whatsoever in the business end of what you may buy a truck for in the first place.".....

Nobody dreams about that. Though, I do have it on good authority that Tundra drivers fantasize about smugly focing Prius drivers into standing water.

Stupid article. Tesla has high tech battery control and performance. Tesla is a daily use car, this is just a crappy car with two electric motors to race a quarter mile. You are using Tesla's name to get some attention to that low achievement crappy car.
Lets see you do better. :)

There is no doubt that the Zombie 222 is an interesting take on the electric car but the fact is, the extra muscle provides nothing too practical. It's an impressive project but in terms of top range, it doesn't even break the 200 mile mark and it still works only on basic chargers.

The Zombie 222 was built to prove a point. That point was not to discredit the Tesla. Infact he proved muscle cars could join Tesla in using electric. The point was to prove electric can be as fast* and powerful as any 68 Mustang on the road. The Zombie 222 was not built to be a practical everyday car. The project had a different agenda in mind.

* That turned out to be top speed of a FULL mile, not a quarter mile or 0 to 60.

I always get a chuckle from stuff where some guy did it "just because he could".

But the big picture is that, even if "he could", NONE of the litany of "alternative/renewable" energy business is ready for prime time. Sure, they're out there now, and they're functional, to a point, but they're incredibly expensive to build and operate, and battery technology isn't there either. Nobody wants to have to stop and "recharge" ever 50 miles or so, even if one finds a place to do it. Performance is characteristically enemic, as well.

The end of the world's petroleum fuel supplies isn't anywhere in sight, and those who use that myth to justify wasting good money on technology that's not usable are just brain-dead liberals or have more money than brains.

So you can go anywhere in the country and pick up a new battery. Its funny all of you Tesla defenders get so uptight when someone brings up the fact that Tesla's are not practical and compared to an ICE car are to expensive, both price and repair. Repair especially as there are not many shops that work on these cars and the company isn't big enough to keep spare drivetrain or body parts in the channel for repairs. Also for the price of admission I would not buy a car with a spotty financial situation as if they go under your warranty and ability to repair the car would end. See electric cars are not ready for primetime yet, Especially from a boutique company that could disappear at anytime. So yeah they are electric, but they make no sense in buying for your everyday car. This Mustang is a track car no more no less and that's amazing and even though the Tesla cars are very impressive in the engineering aspect, have made many advances in the field of electric cars and are really decent looking they are just not practical cars.

What a bunch of sour grapes.

The FACTS are that - in a standing quarter mile - this thing beats a TESLA.
Maybe that's irrelevant in the world of pro-TESLA fanboys and gurlz but I do THINK you people legitimized this when you were touting your P85 beating out all kinds of other ICE vehicles - guess where? - in the standing quarter mile!!!!!

LMAO.

When YOU win - - - it's news.
When someone ELSE wins - - - it's irrelevant.

Tell you what - get busy re-re-hiring some decent sales people in China and let me know how it goes.

Sour grapes for sure.

Here's a cobbled-up car whose range likely is not much more than the 1/4 mile it was designed to run, stripped of everything not essential to that purpose, and it barely out-accelerates a car with every luxury you could want and will take you across the country, as Tesla has demonstrated. Using the term, "fanboy" shows how juvenile and unfocused your "thinking" is.

Hmmm... Mustangs, I like them. Huge fan, but an electric motor... Bah! The tesla!?!?! The only Tesla I know, is Nikolai Tesla, and he dreamed of giving the world free electricity, rather than use it to wave their peens/E-peens around. I don't give a flying fudge what kind of car it is, how old it is, or even how fast it goes. Just build a damn car that runs off of Salt water, or another type of an Abundant resource, that could be transform into a Low cost fuel that doesn't fluctuate like the hands of a person suffering from Parkinsons. To me, THAT really matters the most, and to whom ever creates such an engine, I give you Kudos and send you a trophy that will have etched "Congrats to your success of creating the next best wonder that will change the world forever, and from that, I give you this Peen of Peens trophy for your Success!" and for those who will achieve this victory, I will ensure the dimensions of this trophy will be large enough to be seen on Google Earth©!

We had something very close to this back in the day. It was called the steam engine.

As fate would have it, it lost out to the faster and more reliable ICE.

Edit: though, I suppose the fuel used to heat the water may negate the rhetoric.
