Transfer audio tape through Pinnacle device DVC100 to HD

Anyone know how to transfer audio from a tape player through a Pinnacle Dazzle device onto the HD and have it do it as an audio file instead of it thinking it is a movie?

The Pinnacle device has both audio and video plugs and I just want to take advantage of the audio part.

I'm using my Pinnacle Studio 10.8 software to do the recording. If there is alternative, easier, and free software to do this simple transfer I'm open to that too....having enough struggles with this bought software.....

An even bigger issue is successful transfer of my old camcorder analog tapes through this device but that's another thread for another time.........

bummer. I had thought there might be an expert on this topic out there but maybe this is a more involved and complext type of topic.

I use Nero for recording and editing but you might find Audacity good for you.

I did use Audacity for my audio stuff but really wanted to use my Pinnacle device and Dazzle software to transfer 8mm analog tapes.....

I have the same device you do, use another program because Studio 10 really isn't that great.
