Trojan Horse Problems

a few weeks ago my little sister was browsing on the computer and managed to access a trojan virus therefore it entering the computer. avg free antivirus said it had healed the file. a few days ago i tried to boot the computer and it would go just past the xp home loading screen and then it reboots again.
ive tried booting in safe mode and i get the same sort of thing.
unfortunately i dont have any discs to repair the installation or anything

What can i do as ive got very important work files on here

The Safe Mode menu also has "Last Known Good Configuration" option
Please select that option and reply back

Or

Run Check Disk
Go to "Safe Mode Command Prompt Only"
Log on to Administrator
Type in chkdsk c: /r

Or

The last option would be Restore
But if you have a virus, then it may not complete (ie your risk)
Again go to "Safe Mode Command Prompt Only"
Type in:- c:\windows\system\restore\rstrui.exe
And press Enter

it just restarts when safe mode is loading

So after pressing F8 you do not even see the Safe mode menu ?

try check disk from booting with this cd

please reply back with all details once done

i managed to get into it after, tried last know good config and then it starts to load the drivers and stops on mup.sys not sure what this driver is for

just at the point of MUP.SYS, press ESC on the keyboard
i e try again F8 at startup

Have you been able to use that to do a Check Disk
