But crApple can't do that. They don't have enough money in the bank, yet! Come on. Be reasonable. crApple needs all the money in the world before it will be satisfied.
Personally, I cannot agree that the stock holders are the problem. They have no claim on all the money crApple has in the bank.
As of February 1, 2018 crApple had some $285 Billion dollars in cash reserves. They certainly do not have enough expenses to even put a remote dent in that. I think some are missing the point. This is about greed, at least as I see it. Just how much money does crApple need?

I dont think Americans would be happy to pay heaps more for the same phone...which means a higher price would be set for everyone. That would be the only way to avoid huge amounts of grey imports. In other words, a lose lose for everyone.
The only place where making phones outside of China makes sense is in nations with huge tarrifs like Brazil. Google the price of PlayStation's, phones and Pcs to see the impact tarrifs big enough to encourage local manufacturing have on the average person.

And there is the problem. They should only be allowed a small percentage over their original investment. Anything more and they become leaches, scum of society.
Could not agree more. Unfortunately, too many in the tech world (and other worlds) have no understanding of history. The greedy CEOs don't want to pay Americans to do the job as it would cut into their multi-million dollar salaries and bonuses. Ship the manufacturing overseas, bring in H1-B workers who will do shoddy work for half of what they would pay a very qualified American worker (and, like some companies, expect their capable American worker to train their H1-B replacement). Then they cry foul when China and other countries take their trade secrets and infringe on their patents. Most American workers took pride in what they did when paid a fair wage. Today, nobody gives a rat's behind when they could be dumped in a moment as the job is shipped overseas or replaced with an H1-B. They are also screwing the American public as they don't lower the price on the products they used to make in the US, just larger profit margins for themselves on now shoddy products.

The debt is over 20 trillion dollars, even Apple doesn't have that much.
I believe he meant that they could avoid the tariff if made in the US. Plus corporate rate has been reduced from 35% to 21% so it is competitive now to most other countries. The 35% rate was one of the reasons why so many companies started manufacturing overseas (plus cheaper labor).
Its not just Apple, but too many other companies, especially in the tech world and then they cry foul when their patents are infringed and trade secrets taken - but those "increased profit margins make up for any "lost ideas".But crApple can't do that.
