.ts and .avi -> .mkv encoder

Is there any encoder that can convert .avi and .ts movies
into .mkv format with 1080p setting??

I want to convert them so they are like BluRay and ultra high quality
but I can't seem to find any...

AutoMKV should be able to do it - I think the newer versions of Handbrake can also.
