I am trying to install McAffe Securitiy and it will not let me overwrite Norton internet security even though the NIS is off most of my computer. There are left over files and Control Panel/Remove Programs will not delete the NIS.

There is a tool called Nortan Removal Tool which completely removes Nortan from your pc. Do a search for it you will find it.

you can find the tool at the Norton Symantec website. Hopefully this link works. If not just go to Support and choose which version you have.

You shouldn't be overwriting Norton with Mcafee. You should uninstalling Norton and installing Mcafee. If your having problems uninstalling Norton trying downloading a copy of CCleaner and using the uninstall feature built in to it.
