I worked in engineering for over 20 years. Almost all engineers I know are Trump voters. Also the machinists (I know several), plumbers, electricians, police officers, car mechanics, construction workers, etc. Trump appeals to people who do actual work for a living.

There are stupid people in all walks of life. Look at any cult, Scientology for example, and you'll see lots of people who seem "smart" and have respected professions. It doesn't mean anything. Trump is like the used car salesman who sells you the same used car twice and you're too stupid to catch on to the con.

Did Trump bring back all the manufacturing jobs the last time he was president? No. But hey, I'm sure he'll do it this time around. And if he doesn't, I'm sure he will convince all your plumbers, electricians, police officers, car mechanics, construction workers, etc. that he'll do it, but he needs a third term in office. And you know what, all those people who voted for him twice already would actually believe that and would support amending the constitution just for that purpose!

What gets me about the level of voter stupidity is that people will vote against their own self interests. Republican politicians only ever want to give huge tax cuts to the richest people, because they've been running this 50 year old "trickle down economy" con that's been working so well for them.

Apparently you have to give billionaires as much money as possible, because they'll open new manufacturing plants, create new jobs, and give the average working higher wages. The first time Trump was in office he gave the rich a trillion dollar tax cut in his first six months in office. Did they use that money to help the average worker? Of course not. They used it for CEO bonuses, stock buybacks, and buying a second yacht.

As with most of this, the departments and cuts are broadcast lout and clear, but the actual line items of the cut are kept a secret for a reason. Not by Trump, mind you, by the PRESS. Not one penny of NIH funds to people were made. The cuts were contracts with NIH, of which $170 million was for a new Fauci exhibit at the NIH museum (which I didn't know we had) that probably ought to be shut down to save a buck or two as well.

Everyone wants to cut government waste, then screams bloody murder when a single dime is touched.

I, for one, am tired of paying for shrimp on treadmills, pointless exhibits, bridges to nowhere, etc. Oh, and lets not forget, social security payments to people without SSN OR any ID numbers, just ship the checks.

I dunno what clothing you purchase but most of mine is still made in china from local shops. On top of that, you have almost a whole generation that loves fast fashion and buys **** from shein. 90% of clothing still is made from China, I don't agree with it, but it's a fact. Only top brands have actually moved away from China, and in this economy, not many are buying fresh clothes from top of the line brands.

Not to mention all the tech that is still assembled in China like iPhones.
